world red cross day - INDIAN RED CROSS SOCIETY, Gujrat stae branch

Indian Red Cross Society Gujarat State Branch had a Pride Privilege of visit by our Secretary General Dr. S.P. Agrawal (M.S.(Surg.),M.Ch.(Neuro),FIMSA, FICS, D.Sc(h.e.)) to guide volunteers.

Indian Redme of “Find The Volunteer Inside You” by Swarnim Red Cross Rath Yatra moving through entire Gujarat with involvement of 24 District and 46 Taluka Red Cross Branches and huge number of volunteers.


Objective:
As per Indian Red Cross Society, National Headquarters letter No Q.12014/01/11/INFO and message from General Secretary on World Red Cross Day, the theme of this year is “FIND THE VOLUNTEER INSIDE YOU” . As per the theme Indian Red Cross Society, Gujarat State Branch is starting volunteer motivation and enrolment campaign from 8th May involving all Red Cross Branches in Gujarat with Swarnim Red Cross Rath Yatra.


Programme
From World Red Cross Day All District Red Cross Branches have enrolled 50 volunteers and taluka Red Cross Branches have been enrolled 25 volunteers with commitment of 60 volunteers' hours in humanitarian service in a year.
Entire mission has been moved from entire Gujarat with following target;
The campaign will move from 8th May to 21st May by Zone wise Rath Yatra Movement. The branch will welcome the Red Cross Rath with presence of enrolled new volunteers. The Branch will organize local programme with highlighting local Red Cross activities as follows :
v The Branch office barer and State Branch representative will guide the volunteers for further activities during the year.
v All the enrolled volunteers will work step by step during the year for minimum 60 hours volunteer hours on following subject and guideline.
1. UBicycle Riding Day
Each volunteer will motivate a group of youth people who will travel One day only through bicycle in a month.
2. Earthquakes, Cyclone, Flood, Thalassemia, Sick Cross Society, Gujarat State Branch has celebrated its 50 yeras of establishing as well as World Red Cross Day with the thele Cell Anaemia, Blood Donation Awareness Programme.
Each volunteer will organize a awareness campaign in their community on above mentioned subject as per local requirements and needs.

3. Be an ideal couple

All the enrolled volunteers will involve couple to “Be an Ideal Couple “ for five days humanitarian activities like visiting old age home, Support to poor patients in Government Civil hospitals, Blood donation, Tree Plantation and Energy saving etc.
from 2nd May, 2011 to 8th May, 2011 the mission was divided in Two phase with involvement of committed staff and volunteers Zone wise :
Team 1 : North Gujarat
(Gandhinagar, Prantij, Himatnagar, Idar, Ambaji, Amirgadh, Palanpur, Chhapi, Deesa, Deodar, Vav, Bhabhar, Radhanpur, Patan, Satlasana, Kheralu, Mehsana, Kalol)
Team 2 : Central Gujarat
( Khambhat, Petlad, Anand, Nadiad, Kapadvanj, Balasinor, Godhara, Dahod, Garbada, Devgadh Baria, Dabhoi, Vadodara)
Team 3 : Saurashtra
( Jamnagar, Okha, Dwarka, Porbadnar, Junagadh, Amreli, Savarkundala, Mahuva, Palitana, Bhavnagar, Botad)
Team 4 : Kutch
( Ahmedabad, Dholka, Ranpur,Limdi, Surendranagar, Thangadh, Rajkot, Morbi, Mandavi, Bhuj, Anjar, Gandhidham)
Team 5 : South Gujarat
(Bharuch, Surat, Choryasi, Vyara, Vansada, Chikhali, Valsad, Navsari)
The entire mission was inaugurated by Dr. Madhuben R. Naik ( The Chair Person)in presence of Dr. Bhavesh F. Acharya, Vice Chairman, Shree Dinesh Raval, Managing Committee member and Mr. Prakash Parmar, General Secretary. All the activities were organized by active Red Cross Volunteers and Branch office bearers with guideline from incharge officer from Indian Red Cross Society, Gujarat State Branch. The Detailed branchwise activities have been organised as follows :

· Total District Branch involved: 24
· Total Taluka Branch involved: 43
· Total No. of Branch office bearers involved: 421
· Total No. of beneficiaries for climate change and
awareness campaign: 20,000
· Total No. of trained volunteers involved: 1340
· Total No. of New volunteers enrolled: 450
· Total No. of rally organized: 45
· Total No. of public awareness campaign: 85
