Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology

Indian Red Cross Society offers the Gujarat University approved course for 1 year in Diploma in Medical laboratory Technology (DMLT) is one of the fast growing fields across the globe in health care area. The technologist is a professional who analyzes the body fluids like blood, urine analysis, drug level testing, cerebrospinal fluid etc. They also assist doctors in the treatment of diseases and play a vital role in the prevention of diseases.

They help Physicians to detect, diagnose and in treating the various diseases of patients. The trained technologist has to handle complex electronic equipment like computer, different types of microscopes for the documentation of the reports, the students would be trained laboratory management, practical and internal assessment and handling various types of samples.

  • Program Objective :
    • It is a 1 year program where each student will undergo Theory and practical training work in different divisions of the Laboratory i.e. Clinical Pathology. Hematology, Immunopathology. Microbiology, Blood Banking, Histopathology and Cytology for 32 hrs./week.
    • To provide them proper knowledge on handling different sample types.
    • To provide them information regarding laboratory safety and health hazards.
    • To get hands on exposure to all the automated instruments.
    • To provide skill oriented training and develop skilled professionals ready to work in hospitals and research laboratories, public and private health facilities, industrial laboratories and colleges.
  • Minimum Eligibility :
    • Sc. (Microbiology, Biochemistry)
    • Bachelor degree from any recognised university.
    • Institutes affiliated with UGC / AICTE under 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 pattern
    • Course Duration : 1 Year
    • Fees: Rs. 25,000/- per year
    • University Fees Rs. 500/- per student
